Artist At Work
artist at work is an ongoing project. Featuring my mother, Tandra Bhadra.
she is a print maker, and works in Lalit Kala Akademi Ghari Studios.
As a child having no idea about the process or intrecases of her work I had always been fascinated by the way she used to make her art works.
right from carving out the wood or stone or copper plates to the final art works. Her work had always fascinated me. Through this photo project, spanning over almost 3 years. my aim had been to document the whole process of her work.
The next step in the process comes out to be the carving or making a negative of the art work. in this process, the art work is bulit out layer by layer. the first layer of the wood or the plates are carved or scrated out. a layer of paint is applied. an imporssion of the slab is take.
post hich the next layer is carved out. and then the whole process repeats itself untill all the layers are printed on the paper
